When my daughter and I visited this summer, there was a Cartoon Network event going on that featured outdoor movies, parades, character meetings and a signature water obstacle course.

Whether you choose Cove Beach, Paradise Lagoon or Atlantis Beach, you’ll find white-sand and gorgeous water views.

17. Check out the shops and restaurants in Marina Village.

Guests can peruse jewelry stores, clothing boutiques, restaurants and ice cream shops while enjoying local entertainers (and occasional parades) in a scenic waterfront setting.

Up to two guests per room, per day have complimentary access to the Fitness Center, including use of the cardio studio as well as universal and free weights.

Kids can choose from plush bears, dogs, cats and pink flamingos and outfit them with fun clothing and accessories at Atlantis Pals.

8. Snorkel the day away.

Whether you bring your own gear or rent it at Atlantis, there are several great spots for snorkeling including Paradise Lagoon and Cove Beach. More adventurous water lovers can arrange for a snorkel boat trip or a snorkel outing to the Ruins Lagoon.

Looking to celebrate a special occasion or just in the mood for a fabulous meal? Atlantis Resort’s fine dining options range from traditional French to Asian fusion and everything in between including Nobu, Mesa Grill, Chop Stix, Olives and more.

Guests will find the worlds finest luxury stores (like Gucci, Versace, Michael Kors and David Yurman) as well as specialty stores (jewelry, fashion, beachwear, sporting goods, cigars, and more) and signature Atlantis souvenir gifts.

Adults and kids will love watching these unique creatures swim in the shallow Stingray Lagoon. Don’t miss the chance to pet and feed them.

3. Choose between lazy or wild river ride options.

For a relaxing family-friendly float, the scenic Lazy River Ride will slowly transport you through a tropical landscape. For a more adventurous option, try out The Current which moves guests along via water escalators, rolling waves and extreme rapids.

2. Spend the day at Aquaventure, Atlantis Paradise Island’s 141-acre water park.

Aquaventure, the largest water park in the Caribbean, features high-speed wateslides, river rides, kiddie splash areas and 11 pools. Your whole family will be entertained here hours and hours. (Note: Kids must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the slides.)

    gone twice getting ready to go a 3rd time…its a beautiful place…a lot of walking…and a key here is get to know your taxi guy …we have a great one that is always available for us and a wealth of knowledge where the best places are the most authentic and the worst
