How This List of Scottsdale’s Best Spas Was Curated
As a local resident and spa connoisseur, I felt it was my duty to visit every one of these Scottsdale spas and share the most unique treatments and outstanding resort features with you. I have been scrubbed, massaged, oiled, cleansed, exfoliated, and polished. I toured hammams, salt rooms, spa cafés, and relaxation rooms. I floated in swimming pools, sipped signature smoothies, and attended a guided meditation. This detailed and curated collection of hotel spas is the result of my “hard work.” Enjoy!
1. Joya Spa at Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia
Topping this list of the best spa resorts in Scottsdale is Joya Spa. Inspired by Southern Spain’s Moorish architecture and warm hospitality, you’ll feel like you’ve escaped to Andalusia at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia.
Before entering the spa, you’ll stroll along the Alhambra Walkway, modeled after the Generalife Gardens at the Alhambra in Grenada, Spain. Once inside, choose among five types of Healing Stones and set your intention for your day. (I chose Aventurine for Prosperity, Career, Steadiness, and Protection.)
Plan to spend your whole day at the 31,000-square-foot Joya Spa. You will want to soak in the indoor hot tubs, relax in the saunas and steam rooms, and cool off with a cold déluge shower.
A sumptuous Whisper Zone room replete with cushy beds and gauzy nets provides a place to unwind. Be sure to pick up a few slices of delightfully sweet organic mango slices to munch. If you’re feeling active, make use of the onsite fitness center, too.
Joya Terrace Pool
Leave plenty of time to spend at the Joya Terrace Pool, reserved solely for spa guests. Incredible views of the famous animal-shaped Camelback Mountain are not to be missed.
Enjoy a poolside menu of tacos, sandwiches, and salads. You can also purchase a cocktail or mocktail. Might I suggest the Pretty in Pink Mocktail made with fresh grapefruit, guava, and soda water?
Why Choose Joya Spa
- This is the best luxury spa in Scottsdale in my opinion with incredible theming, service, and views of Camelback Mountain from the rooftop spa pool.
- Number of treatment rooms: 20.
- Salon: Yes.
- Spa pool: Joya Terrace Pool for spa guests only.
- Sauna: Yes.
- Steam room: Yes.
- Whirlpool spa: Yes.
- Recommended treatment: CBD Bliss Massage with Hot Stone Upgrade (50 or 80 minutes).

2. Spa Avania at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale and Spa at Gainey Ranch
Make sure to pack your bathing suit because the water elements at Spa Avania at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa will make you flip. Gender-specific water gardens feature a whirlpool spa with flowing fountains and a cold plunge pool.
French Celtic Mineral Pool
The real star is Spa Avania’s palm-surrounded, 24,000-gallon French Celtic Mineral Pool. It is infused with a balance of minerals like magnesium, sodium, and potassium to leave your skin refreshed, whereas regular chlorine pools dry out the skin. The Lotus Pond at one end of the pool adds to its beauty.
The poolside food menu features healthy options like a Go Green Salad as well as more indulgent dishes like a Strauss Burger with white cheddar. In addition to adult beverages, you can order healthy shots of cold-pressed juices.
Himalayan Salt Room
Spa Avania is also home to the Himalayan Salt Room, the only salt room in the Valley of the Sun. The walls are coated with pretty salt crystals and medical-grade salts are diffused into the room. An individual or duo “halotherapy” session consists of inhaling micronized salt air particles and allowing the salt to powder your bare skin.
This treatment results in anti-inflammation for clearer skin, better breathing, and overall wellness. Esthetician Regina Salas, swears by the efficacy of this unique experience and says it helps relieve her lupus symptoms as well as heat rashes experienced by visiting vacationers at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch.

3. The Phoenician Spa at The Phoenician
With gold and white décor throughout, The Phoenician Spa oozes elegance. The cushy co-ed Relaxation Room offers fruit-infused water, a selection of teas, trail mix, and chocolate-covered fruits. To truly unwind before or after your treatment, though, sink into a soft chaise in the Quiet Relaxation Room.
Don’t skip the “personal spa ritual” at this spa with an indoor sauna, steam room, hot tub with a mountain view, and cool shower.
My Sonoran Wellness Scrub, Massage, and Wrap was the ultimate in relaxation from head to toe. Massage Therapist Kristy Medina describes this service as the choice when you want to, “go big or go home.”
In addition to six pedicure chairs and four manicure stations, The Phoenician is home to a Drybar for blowout and updo hair styling.
Top off your luxurious Phoenician Spa experience with a dip in their aptly named Rooftop Pool. Order Mediterranean cuisine to your lounge chair. A popular poolside drink among guests is the Lavender-Chambord Lemonade but I couldn’t resist the Fruit-Infused Frosé.
