1. Best Infinity Pool in Hawaii
Princeville Resort – Kauai
“Although there is no shortage of amazing pools in Hawaii, my vote goes to the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas. It may not have slides or other water park features but the St. Regis pool is truly a spectacular pool. Located on Kauai’s north shore overlooking Hanalei Bay, this 5,000-square-foot infinity pool takes full advantage of its surroundings. The pool is oceanfront so obviously, it offers stunning views of the water and it also offers equally beautiful mountain views. Unwind at the end of the day and you can even catch a gorgeous Hawaiian sunset without getting out of the water. No rush to leave though — with the added bonus of staying open 24/7 guests can enjoy a relaxing dip anytime they like.”

2. First Fantasy Pool in Hawaii
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa – Maui
“Hyatt Regency Maui is home to some of the world’s first fantasy pools. Designed by renowned hotelier Christopher B. Hemmeter, the pools meander through the property and boast waterfalls, a romantic grotto with pool bar, a rope bridge, a popular basketball hoop for a splashy game, and play fountains for tots. Hemmeter is credited by many as revolutionizing the hotel industry in Hawaii and creating the first destination resorts.
Hyatt Regency’s Keiki Lagoon is a pool area built just with little kids in mind. There’s a 25-foot waterslide appropriate for toddlers and young grade schoolers, fountains galore and shallow waters perfect for play with pail and shovel. Meanwhile, more adventurous pool goers will enjoy the hotel’s 150-foot tunnel slide. Read my full review of Hyatt Regency or read additional reviews at Hotels.com.”

3. Hawaiian Pools for Disney Fans
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa – Oahu
“Aulani is home to some of the best pools in Hawaii. It’s easy to spend several days at the hotel just exploring all the pools, slipping down waterslides, soaking in the whirlpool spas and splashing in the kids’ play areas. You can dream the day away floating around their lazy river, or escape the kids at the Wailana Pool, the adult-exclusive pool at Aulani, a Disney Resort.”

4. Hotel Pool for Waterslide Races in Hawaii
Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay – The Big Island
“The Sheraton Kona‘s oceanside pools were a huge hit with my family. I pretty much had to drag my kids out of the pool whenever it was time to eat or explore other parts of the Big Island. The multi-level pool sprawls throughout the resort’s interior and perimeter, making a variety of pool environments for families. My girls adored the lava tube waterslide with daily races for prizes! For an extra treat, book a poolside/ocean view cabana for the day.”
— Katie Bodell, Trekaroo
5. Best Boutique Hotel Pool in Hawaii
Aqua Kauai Beach Resort – Kauai
“When I am staying at a resort hotel, I like a great pool. The Aqua Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue on Kauai fills the bill and then some. Its spectacular oceanfront pool complex has four swimming pools, a hot tub and a waterslide. Plus it’s landscaped with lagoons, lava grottoes, and waterfalls. All of this makes the perfect backdrop for reading a book, people-watching or taking a little snooze. And happily for families, children have their own sandy lounge area featuring a lava-tube waterslide and a sand-bottom pool. Lounge chairs are plentiful, and poolside food service includes the resort’s delicious mai tai.”

6. Most Impressive Condominium Hotel Pools in Hawaii
Wailea Beach Villas – Maui
Wailea Beach Villas is located in my favorite part of Maui, exclusive Wailea on the south coast. These family-friendly villas are set on 12 acres of landscaped gardens with all the amenities of a big resort including pools, a fitness center and a concierge. I love the adults-only infinity pool where you can enjoy the view without disruption. The beachfront family pool is equally impressive. Some of the luxury loungers have retractable hoods, which are great for keeping children (and you!) from getting too much sun in between dips in the pools.”

7. Hawaiian Hotel Pools for Tranquility OR Adventure
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu – Kauai
“With three different and unique pools, Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu had me at hello! You’ll find the ideal poolside location for everyone, from the adventurous family of five to the couple enjoying their honeymoon. Couples will enjoy the Tranquility Pool, nestled between buildings and almost hidden from outsiders except for the sounds of the waterfall within. The brand new 350,000-gallon Signature Lagoon Pool and Family Lagoon Pool are impressive with multi-levels, bridges, slides, and multiple waterfalls.”

8. Best Hotel Pools in Hawaii for Multigenerational Travel
Hilton Waikoloa Village – the Big Island
“Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island is one of the most family-friendly resorts we have visited. My kids’ favorite part of this 62-acre oceanfront resort were its incredible pools. Kona Pool is the largest, featuring a 175-foot waterslide, hot tubs, swim-through waterfalls, underwater grotto and wading area for toddlers with a sandy entrance. It’s easy to refresh here with the pool bars, too. We also loved the luxury daybeds, love seats, cabanas and hammocks. The Kohala River Pool offers four interconnected pools, smaller waterslides, waterfalls and a small lazy river. There are plenty of cabanas and lounges to enjoy the great views along the bay. Meanwhile, for parents or grandparents who need some quiet time, the Ocean Tower pool is for adults only.”

9. Most Extensive Pool Offerings in Hawaii
Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort – Maui
“Nowhere on Earth are the pools more entertaining than at Grand Wailea on Maui. The lazy river pool with rapids, a Tarzan-style rope swing, nine completely individual pools that are interconnected with small and larger water slides, a water elevator (seriously!) and caves and grottos, are all part of the Wailea Canyon Activity Pool. And yes, there is even a serene and luxurious adults-only pool — but what’s the fun in that?”
