Where did the first SeaWorld open?

SeaWorld once had four locations but SeaWorld Ohio has since closed. This Midwestern park opened in 1970 but struggled to succeed due to cold weather and a short visitors’ season. It was sold to Busch Gardens, which combined the aquatic park with its Six Flags Ohio theme park to form Six Flags World of Adventure before it was sold to Cedar Fair in 2004. The park shut down permanently in 2007.

SeaWorld San Antonio is the most recent addition to group, opening in 1988. SeaWorld Orlando opened in 1973.  The first SeaWorld is located in d) San Diego. It opened in 1964 and is one of the top 15 attractions for kids in San Diego, according to a local in the know (me!).

  1. All generations can enjoy a day at Sea World. Great place to connect with family and sea life.

  2. You should check your facts. Seaworld Orlando opened in 1971 not 1988.

Doh! That was a typo. But SeaWorld Orlando opened in 1973, not 1971. I’ve changed it in the answer above.
