When packing for any trip, I try to plan out my fashions carefully for each day and select versatile travel clothing that can be worn more than once. Especially when traveling with children, baggage fees can add up quickly so it's important to pack wisely. The Chrysalis Cardi by Encircled is the most versatile travel garment I've ever seen.
Made from eco-conscious fabric, the Chrysalis Cardi can be worn an impressive eight different ways. From scarf, to shirt, to dress, to cape…this unique garment has got you covered. It comes with a Lookbook to help create all of the different fashions, with step-by-step instructions and explanatory photos.
The Chrysalis Cardi Look
The namesake style, the Chrysalis Cardi look is comfy and stylish. At first I was confused about how to create this style, but after I figured it out, it seemed like a no-brainer. To make things easier for you, I shot a video showing how to make this iconic, cocoon-style cardigan.
The Double Loop Scarf Look
After I lived in France for one year during college, my sister asked me if I was going to be one of “those” people who wears scarves after living in Europe. The answer? Yes, I sure was! Europeans have long known what we Americans finally seem to have grasped: scarves are an easy way to transform an outfit from bland to bling! This timeless, classic infinity scarf is an easy way to complete your outfit. I love the idea of throwing on this look before boarding an airplane and then wrapping up in the garment to stay warm when temperature drop in the air, rather than using one of those germ-ridden airline-provided blankets.
The Triple Loop Scarf Look
Whether you live in a chilly locale or you're headed somewhere with cool temperatures, the Triple Loop Scarf will keep you warm. What a stylish way to stay toasty on a fall walk in the woods!
The Grecian Tunic Look
The Grecian Tunic could be worn shorter over a pair of leggings or longer as a dress, as I did above. Add a fun, jeweled necklace for a night out on the town. I suggest clasping the snaps around your bra straps to keep the tunic sleeves from dropping down. This look is created using a tie sash, which is included with your Chrysalis Cardi purchase.
The Cape Look
I love this look, especially for traveling moms who are still nursing a baby. This cozy draped poncho would double nicely as a nursing cover on an airplane or while out exploring museums and other sites.
In addition to the five looks I've modeled here, you can also form your Chrysalis Cardi into a simple Big Loop Scarf, a One-shoulder Dress, and an X-Back Halter shirt. Watch this video by Encircled about how to create any of the eight looks.
