Travel Tips from Kinga Philipps

Hilton Garden Inn partnered with television personality and travel enthusiast Kinga Philipps, who came up with some travel tips to make travelling easier.

  1. Embrace the Culture: Scope out unique events, festivals and fairs that are exclusive to the region and eat like a local – skip the chain restaurants! Visitor centers and community calendars are great resources to find local gems – you can’t find everything in guide books.
  2. Just Breathe: Forget about your “to-do” list and stresses back home – embrace vacation mode! Make the most of your experience by reminding yourself to be present in the moment.
  3. Connect with Your Inner Child: Don’t be afraid to play! Challenge yourself to embrace your surroundings and live in the moment – run through a field of flowers, ride a rollercoaster, indulge in a funnel cake at a fair, whatever your heart desires. Keep it fun and light-hearted. You’ll thank yourself later.

Family Travel Tips from The Travel Mama

All members of the family deserve to enjoy their vacation…mom, dad and the kids. Here are a few of my travel tips to help make the most of your holiday.

  1. Take Turns: When traveling with multiple ages and personalities, it’s important to make time for everyone’s preferences. Before leaving home, make a list of each family member’s travel wishes for each destination and come up with a plan to please all.
  2. Take a Break: Family vacations are meant to bring family members closer together but spending every minute of every day together can lead to too much of a good thing. Check the kids into the hotel or cruise ship’s kids camp or hire a sitter for a bit of alone time (or couple time). Parents can trade-off watching kiddos too. Some time apart will mean less arguments and make together time even sweeter.
  3. Play with Locals: Head to a local park, children’s museum or community pool to meet local residents. Children often make friends easier than adults do, opening the door for adult conversations while the kids play. Connecting with locals adds a layer of authenticity to your travels.

Why Choose Hilton Garden Inn

I have partnered with Hilton Garden Inn many times. I even sang their prizes on numerous TV programs during a whirlwind media tour last year. I love this brand for numerous reasons…an always friendly staff…the boutique hotel feel with amenities of a large hotel chain…and more than 500 locations to choose from in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy, Germany and beyond. Hilton Garden Inn also offers reasonable room prices with the full-service hotel options that the whole family loves, like hotel pools for swimming, fitness centers to stay in shape while traveling, hot breakfasts in the mornings, Garden Sleep Systems beds that can be adjusted on either side to suit the firmness factor for two sleep-mates, free WiFi and a 24-hour pantry stocked with snacks and drinks for purchase.
