Sure, moms love a handcrafted card and breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day or their birthday. But if you’re a Travel Mama like me, your heart melts when you receive a thoughtful gift that makes travel easier or more memorable. Here are five gift ideas for traveling moms that are sure to please, no matter your budget.

5 Mother's Day Gift Ideas for Traveling Moms

Flowers from Mom’s Favorite Destination

Anyone can buy flowers from the grocery store. Take it up a notch by purchasing flowers from your favorite mom’s preferred vacation spot. Search the web for florists in her destination of choice to see if they deliver to her hometown. A fresh lei will transport any mama back to Hawaii. Or, place a special order with a local florist for a bouquet made with flowers that represent her favorite locale, like magnolias from Louisiana or tulips from Holland.

Vacation Memories via Photo Gifts

The only thing traveling moms love nearly as much as their children just might be reminiscing about incredible family vacation memories made together. Combine the two into one with a gift of a framed family vacation photo, or photo album/photo book filled with pictures from her journeys.

Relaxation On the Go with T Spheres

Traveling allows a mom to get outside her comfort zone to try new things and experience new adventures. But planning a vacation for the whole family, lugging suitcases, and driving or flying for hours can lead to stress and tight muscles. Give the mom in your life the gift of relaxation on the go with T Spheres. I received samples of these aromatherapy-infused massage balls for this sponsored post and these are just what I need to calm my nerves after a long day of listening to whines of “Are we there yet?” from the backseat. Great for business travelers, too, T Spheres are the perfect little travel companions to self-soothe away the aches caused by a heavy brief case and cramped airplane quarters.

Choose from four scents: Pep Up Mint (peppermint), Perk Up (mint plus grapefruit), Inner Beauty (rose geranium), or my favorite, Peace & Quiet (infused with lavender, known for its ability to alleviate headaches, anxiety, nervous tension and emotional stress). Each T Spheres order comes with two T Spheres, a 3 milliliter infuser, and an instructional brochure in a portable jute drawstring bag. Find more information on the T Spheres Facebook page.

Travel Books for the Armchair Traveling Mom

Traveling moms love to daydream about their next vacation. Do you know your mom’s dream vacation locale? Run out to the bookstore and buy a few guidebooks about that destination. Travel memoirs provide a fantastic escape between trips, too. Or, purchase a travel journal in which she can record her memories and thoughts from her own travels.

If she can't travel all the time, at least the traveling mom can read about traveling all the time!

More Travel!

Do away with boring gift certificates for ho-hum local restaurants and stores. Instead, get the Travel Mama in your life something she really wants…more travel! Purchase a gift card from her favorite airline to put toward her next flight, or if you can afford it, book the flight for her. (Just be sure the dates work because you know what control freaks moms can be!) For a thoughtful travel solution, look up Living Social or Groupon activities for the next destination on her agenda and purchase her an experience she’ll never forget, like surfing lessons or zip-lining.
