I wish you could have seen the smile and shock on my face during our family vacation when I opened the door to my suite at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel. An ideal location, incredible customer service, and spacious accommodations make this hotel a great fit for families seeking a posh beach holiday in Florida.

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Review for Families Who Love Luxury Travel

Ocean-Themed Suites

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach sits in a prime location along the Atlantic Ocean. Every one of the hotel’s 290 suites boasts a view of the sea, the intracoastal waterway, or the sixth floor pool deck. They’re all outfitted with a gourmet kitchen, Italian marble bathroom, and ample outdoor space, too. Around-the-clock room service and housekeeping add to the luxury experience and will leave you feeling thoroughly pampered.

A tour of the hotel revealed subtle nautical touches in honor of the beautiful beachfront location. Arched doorways, porthole style windows, high gloss wood, and ocean inspired art are all part of the hotel’s sea-faring theme.

Impeccable Service

Atlas, the hotel’s lobby bar, makes a great place to get some work done or relax with your travel mate. I enjoyed drinks and gourmet snacks, tucked away in a comfy chair. Staff members were available but discreet, and anticipated my every need. In a word, impeccable.

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Pool and Spa

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach’s expansive pool and spa reside on the sixth floor. Both offer sweeping views of the Atlantic. I jumped at the opportunity to spend a few hours soaking up some sun before returning to my frozen Minnesota home. With cushioned lounge chairs and complimentary towels, it’s easy to drop by the pool area for a short break. Or you could spend all day frolicking here with the family. A poolside cafe offers bar fare and tropical drinks.

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach for Families

Families will find the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach perfect for a pre- or post-cruise stay. Fort Lauderdale Beach lies just across the street. Plus, your stay at the hotel comes complete with bike rental, two beach chairs and a beach umbrella to enjoy. The hotel concierge is always at the ready  to arrange plenty of family fun in the Fort Lauderdale area, including the thriving Fort Lauderdale art scene!

Suites have room for the family to spread out, with one-, two- or three-bedroom units. If bonding time is in order, each suite is equipped with a 50-inch TV for a family movie night after a long day at the beach. Pop some popcorn in the microwave or on the stove, and settle in!

Indulge at Terra Mare

Terra Mare is Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach’s signature restaurant. Positioned across from the beach, elegant indoor dining, or a two tier outdoor deck are available from 7 am daily.  Shared plating is encouraged through their large tapas style dishes. Additionally, solo dishes with a Mediterranean flare are a favorite. I satisfied my sweet tooth with a Belgian waffle here my last morning in Fort Lauderdale. The tropical morning breezes and sunshine made me long to stay another night or two.

I love the layout, and that VIEW! I could spend my whole day on that patio sipping champagne and be very content.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

I loved the layout, too, and there were TWO huge patio doors out to that patio. I wish I would have had time to sit on the patio and sip champagne all day, but I guess that is a good reason for a return visit!

  3. Sarah Bailey says

Oh wow, what a beautiful looking hotel to get to stay at! I have to admit I love the idea of themed rooms, there’s something quite different around them.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

The subtle nautical theme fits in so well with the outdoor environment. You get the feel of the ocean inside and out. I hope you are able to visit one day!

The Conrad would be perfect for you, and the suites are amazing! You will love the kitchen, but don’t spend too much time in it while vacationing:)

  6. This looks like a beautiful place to stay. We haven’t been to Florida, but we have been wanting to go and enjoy the beaches and swimming. I would love to stay here with my family.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

Both you and your kids would love Fort Lauderdale! The Conrad would be a great base to explore the area. My kids and I took a Duck Tour of Fort Lauderdale, and it was a blast. I recommend it!

  7. I would LOVE to stay there! It’s not far from us so we could totally stay there for a weekend.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

A weekend would be plenty of time to indulge in some luxury and enjoy fabulous food at the Conrad. I recommend the belgian waffle on the outdoor patio for breakfast!

  8. Oh wow. This place is incredibly beautiful! The view is magnificent. I wish I will get a chance to visit here soon.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

Summer vacations are the best! I hope you get a chance to visit the Conrad one day!

  12. Ice Cream n Sticky Fingers says

This hotel looks amazing. I would love to sit on the porch and soak in the sunshine. I really contemplated going to sit by the pool yesterday afternoon. It was a bit too windy. Maybe this weekend if it is nice outside.

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

It was most definitely sunny and amazing, and would definitely be worth a visit. I hope you get your sunny weekend by the pool!

  13. Heather Stone says

Ft. Lauderdale is such a fun place to go, I grew up in West Palm Beach and would go often. I have never stayed here but now I want to go back just to visit and go on a vacation there. The views are breathtaking, I miss that. That room, I could stay all Summer there. The beaches in Florida are some of the best in the US, and you can meet people from around the world.

  14. Marissa Zurfluh says

I would love to take a trip there! I have spent a lot of time on Florida beaches!

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

  16. Do you know if the pods for the Nespresso machine are complimentary? We can easily bring some with us from our home. Great review by the way!

    • Debbie Ferm, The Animal Loving Travel Mama says

      Hi Jane,
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! If I remember correctly, there are one or two that are complimentary. More are available for purchase, or you are free to supply your own. Thanks, and have a great trip!

  17. David Bluvol says

My wife and I just returned from a 5 day/4nite stay at the Conrad. Hotel is great, but there is a Four season Residence being built next door. As a result could not use our balcony (Mon-Thur). Construction runs(8-5). It was loud by pool and beach.

    • Colleen Lanin, The Travel Mama says

Hi David – I’m glad to hear you liked the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach. It’s too bad that the Four Seasons construction caused problems during your stay! Hopefully they will be done building soon!
