Summer Travel Twitter Party - Win an Atlantis Resort Vacation!

Cartoon Network at Atlantis

Cartoon Network is celebrating summer at Atlantis, May 30 – August 20. Paramore is kicking off the fun with a concert on May 31. All summer long families can enjoy a one-of-a-kind, 9,000-square-foot inflatable obstacle course, Cartoon Network outdoor shows under the stars, and character parades starring favorites like Finn, Jake, Gumball, Darwin, Ben and other characters from kids' favorite shows.

Atlantis Resort vacation water fun

I am a nut for a great hotel pool and Atlantis Resort was named as the home of the Most Unique Hotel Pool on the Travel Mamas 10 Best Family Hotel Pools in the World list. Atlantis is best known for its Aquaventure water park, filled with waterslides galore,  11 pools, and a snorkeling lagoon. One waterslide even sends swimmers through a shark-filled tank in a see-through tube! The mile-long river ride is not your typical lazy river, rather it's a thrilling ride with rapids and wave surges. Younger children will adore their water play zone with a Mayan-themed structure featuring multiple slides, cargo nets, rope bridges, water cannons, and fountains.

Kids camps

After all of that water play, the kids might need a break from Mom and Dad (or vice versa!). Kids ages 3 – 12 can love Atlantis Kids Adventure where they can participate in cooking classes, interactive electronic art, wizardology reading room, theater and outdoor play. During the summer, kids will get to play Cartoon Network games and may even see some of their favorite characters in the club.

For teens, the CRUSH club is so cool, you'll wish you could go! Thankfully for teens (ages 13 – 17), no parents are allowed. Think multi-touch computers and surface tables, a game room stocked with the Kinect for Xbox 360, a floor-to-ceiling gaming tower with 24 gaming consoles, 10 private gaming cabanas, iPads for internet browsing and multi-purpose video walls decorating the dance club.

Dolphins, sea lions, fish and other sea life

Guests meet and interact with dolphins and sea lions at Dolphin Cay Atlantis in a natural lagoon setting. My husband and I participated in a dolphin interaction years ago and it stands out as one of the most memorable travel experiences of our lives. Believe me, swimming with dolphins and getting a smooch from one of these sweet, charismatic animals is something you will never forget!

Atlantis is home to more than 50,000 sea creatures with 250 different species. Many of these animals live inside “The Dig,” a maze of underwater passageways and rooms. Lisa Goodmurphy, The Saucy Travel Mama, explains, “The Dig is a walk-through marine life exhibit depicting the tunnels of the lost city of Atlantis. View a multitude of sea creatures and fish including stingrays, eels, and jelly fish. There’s even a touch tank with conch, starfish, horseshoe crabs and sea urchins.” Learn more about Atlantis water activities, room options, dining, activities and tips in Lisa's Atlantis Resort review.

(Presented by HGTV.) Pricing for the three-day event starts at $295 per person, plus accommodations.

Hello: I’m a hard-working mom with three beautiful children. I work overnight hours at my place of employment and non-stop hours as a mother! Would love to spend some days in the sun and having fun at Atlantis. So many amazing things to do for the children as well. And with all of the meal choices, I know my picky eaters will find something that they love. Keeping fingers crossed that we get the opportunity to have the family adventure of a lifetime at the Atlantis in the Bahamas.

    • Colleen Lanin, The Travel Mama says:

Diana – Sorry you didn’t win this time around. I hope you’ll participate in a future #KidsNTrips party for another chance to win a fabulous prize. Atlantis is always running great deals too, so hopefully you’ll get a chance to make it to The Bahamas after all!
