Spa Week is almost here, which means it’s time to don a fluffy robe and let the pampering begin! The 16th installation of Spa Week is taking place April 16-22 in more cities across North America than ever before. Mamas like you take care of everything: checking the homework, kissing the boo-boos, mopping up the spilled juice, sorting the laundry, walking the dog, brushing the cat and feeding the husband…it’s time for someone take care of YOU for a change!

You don’t have to be rich to be treated like a queen for a day. Over a thousand spas are participating in Spa Week — each offering two to three of their most coveted spa services for just $50 apiece. These treatments normally range from $75-$250. Choose from a tempting array of traditional treatments like massages, facials, pedicures and body wraps. Many spas are offering additional services too, like laser hair removal, teeth-whitening, or private Yoga or Pilates sessions.
No babysitter? No worries! Eighty-two LifeSpa locations provide FREE child care during your spa treatment.
With numerous cities participating in Spa Week, you can likely find a location near your home or during your travels.
Coming to San Diego? Check out Beauty Kliniek, an Aromatherapy Day Spa & Wellness Center, where I got a sneak peek of their Spa Week offerings. Located in an unassuming strip mall in the University Town Center (UTC) area of San Diego near La Jolla and Pacific Beach, you will be surprised by the size of this day spa. It has grown to 8,000-square-feet in its nearly 30 years of service.
Every one of their massage therapists has at least 1,000 hours of training and all facialists have at least 10 years of experience. Beauty Kliniek is home to a couple’s room for side-by-side treatments, and infrared sauna (great for releasing impurities), a eucalyptus-herbal steam room, several treatment rooms, and a full salon. The focus here is on a natural health and beauty; all Beauty Kliniek therapists and estheticians are holistic health practitioners.
For Spa Week, Beauty Kliniek is offering:
- 45 Min MicroCrystal Facial including Hydrating Mineral Mask
- 50 Min Therapeutic Stress Buster Massage or 60 Min Acupuncture Treatment
- 60 Min Tropical Spa Pedicure with Coconut Milk Bath and Warm Body Butter Wrap

I opted for the MicroCrystal Facial including Hydrating Mineral Mask, which my esthetician, Ann Maria Scaduto says is perfect for someone who has dry skin (like me). In addition to standards like steam, extractions and a mask — this treatment also includes a facial pressure point massage as well as a soothing massage of the feet and neck. I always have a hard time choosing between what I really want (a massage) and what I need (a facial), so this was a delightful way to get both.

A Note from The Travel Mama: I received a complimentary treatment at Beauty Kliniek as part of this Spa Week promotion.

Oh Spa Week in San Diego was awesome! We hit up 3 day spas in 3 days as a pack of wild girls and Loved it.
I agree on the want vs need above. A facial is a gotta have every so often.
Day care too? Awesome. I didn’t need it, but that is a great service for mamas who need some spa time.
Oh Carla, 3 day spas in 3 days?! Sounds heavenly!
