Overtime Bag – For Travel, Work & Motherhood

If you’re tired of switching from purse to briefcase to diaper bag to carry-on for travel, work, and motherhood…I’ve got a stylish solution for you! The Rachel Andrew Overtime Bag is spacious enough to store your wallet, sunglasses, makeup and keys…and still have room for a sippy cup or bottle, snacks for the kiddos, diapers…and even a laptop.

The Overtime Bag for travel, work & motherhood

The Overtime Bag for travel, work and motherhood

Designed by a working mom

Rachel Andrew is a busy working mom and frequent traveler. She said, “It seems like I’m always on the run, and always rushing to pack my things as I head out the door. Until recently, that was a BIG problem! I had too many bags—a purse for me, a laptop case for work, and a diaper bag for my kids.”

Switching bags all of the time became a hassle and it never seemed she had everything she needed in one place. She said, “I wanted a stylish bag that I could use every day and everywhere, with the best features and functionality of the diaper bag and laptop case I was trying to replace.”

After searching and searching, Rachel couldn’t find a bag that was both stylish and practical. So, she created her own: the Overtime Bag. If necessity is the mother of all invention, then this is the mother of all bags.

The Overtime Bag's spacious interior

Plenty of room and compartments for all those extra things we moms need to carry

Room for all that extra stuff

How many times have I ducked out to a coffee shop to get some quality kid-free writing done, only to realize I forgot to grab my wallet from my purse to put into my briefcase?! Rachel’s right, switching from bag to bag is a nuisance.

Although my two kids are in grade school now and I therefore no longer carry a diaper bag, I often need to tote lots of extras with me. In the Overtime Bag’s main compartment, I easily fit my laptop, some snacks for the kids, a water bottle, my wallet, a couple of toys and a notepad (with room to spare). The Overtime Bag comes with a pocket specially designed to hold a smart phone, a small interior zipper pocket (a great spot for a pack of crayons in my opinion), a zipper pocket for sunglasses, and two thin open pockets, perfect for holding keys and lipsticks. I love being able to easily find what I need without digging around for ages.

Overtime Bag's secret compartment for storing cords

Shh…there’s a secret compartment for storing cords

There’s yet another outside zipper pocket, and, get this, a zip-out compartment at the bottom of the bag. This interior “secret” compartment provides a wonderful spot to store charger cords for your laptop, tablet or phone so they don’t get tangled up in the main section. I love the periwinkle blue interior color too!

It really is stylish!

Okay, okay, so the Overtime Bag is practical. But it really is a pretty handbag too. When Rachel asked me if I’d like to review a purse that doubles as a diaper bag, I thought, “Meh.” But then I saw how cute the Overtime Bag is and that meh quickly changed to a, “Yes, please!”

You won’t feel like you’ve lost your style to parenthood with this bag on your shoulder. In fact, if you saw your best gal pal sporting the Overtime, you would have no idea it can double as a diaper bag or briefcase. You’d just say, “Wow – cute purse!”

Choose to wear your Overtime Bag with the shoulder straps or with an across-the-body strap. This extra strap is removable and can be adjusted to hang your bag over a suitcase or stroller for easy transport.

  1. What an awesome bag! I definitely would choose the black one. I just recently bought some new luggage (an Osprey “backpacker” bag, I’m giving up the wheels) and have been looking for a purse that is about backpack size that can be worn different ways. It’s way easier to push a stroller with a bag across your chest and your luggage on your back!

  2. I always like bags also that have a different color interior than the exterior, since I usually pick neutral colors.

  3. That bag is SO cute. and so much storage inside!

Agreed. I’m a little sad I have to return the Overtime now that the review is done!

  4. Love the blue one. This bag would be great for travel! I’m always trying to stuff too much gear into my purse when we’re on the go.

    • Colleen Lanin, The Travel Mama says:

Allison – The blue one is super cute too. I can’t wait to see the new colors Rachel Andrew is launching soon!

  5. VERY nice! I love an all-in-one bag, and this seems like a great option. I like both but the blue one is really nice looking.
